Sending good wishes for the PhD. Any advanced degree is inclined to expand to fill your life, so make sure you get some time off as well! (Trust me, this is advice from experience!)
I only have a Masters, but even so, it swallowed up my life for a year, and drove me to distraction. You know how to write, you know how to research, so you are ahead of most people starting a PhD!
Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, I do know how to research and write, but academic writing will be something new for me as I haven't done a masters. I am currently working on a journal article to help get me into that headspace.
