Welcome to the new White Threads blog
With many people leaving social media, I’m trying something new. I’ve had a blog for many years, but this is the new location for my blog, White Threads.
I recently canvassed my audience on social media and asked them if they’d prefer to hear from me on social media, or as emails delivered to them. The resounding answer was, “Emails, please!” Here, on Substack, I can publish my blog and you can receive them via email when you subscribe.
Not everyone wanted emails though, so I do intend to keep posting on social media for the time being.
What can you expect to find here?
My posts usually consist of images of my needlework, thoughts about needlework, links to new products, updates on my books, information about upcoming classes, a little bit of market research (I ask you things, and you give me your answers), and other things to do with me and needlework.
For those of you who don’t already know me, I’m Yvette Stanton. I’m a needlework historian, needlework book author, and needlework designer. I particularly love whitework (white stitching on white fabric), and have written a number of books on it, so much so that someone decided to call me the Whitework Queen, and I decided to own that moniker! I’m left-handed, and I love teaching both left- and right-handed students.
I’m Australian, and I live in a small country town in the NSW Northern Tablelands of Australia. I do travel both within Australia and internationally to teach. Online teaching is not something I prefer to do, and I have really good reasons for that. I’ve even written a blog post about it.
If you’re as new to Substack as I am, the best thing to do is to hit that “Subscribe now” button, then you’ll receive my posts in your email inbox. If you don’t find anything coming through, check your spam and move any from me there into your main inbox. The other option is that I might not have posted anything recently.
If you like what you find here, please tell your friends, so that they can subscribe too.
In setting this up, I did manage to import some of my previous blog posts, but for some reason it only imported the last ten. If you want to go further back, you can find my old blog posts at https://vettycreations.com.au/white-threads/
Like we can on social media, I’d love to continue having a conversation with you here. I love hearing from you.
So, thanks for joining me here in this new blog venture. I hope we have some fun and interesting conversations here!
